Romance of the Alsace, Strasbourg and Wine Villages

Discover the magnificent historical region of Alsace, a mix of French and German culture. This is reflected in the culture of the region, which is a unique blend of the two. Strasbourg probably best typifies this blend and the surrounding countryside is home to a number of ‘Route des Vins’ which dot the area with carefully nurtured vineyards and picture-postcard villages. See half-timbered medieval buildings, canals and pretty squares as we explore this stunning corner of France.

We enjoyed the on tour organisation and also the pick up and drop off arrangements at the start and finish of the holiday. The main hotel on the tour was excellent with good food and situated in a lovely area. We did have a 5 hour break down delay on the journey back to Metz for the final nights stay but we realise that these things happen.

Enjoyed the places we visited, to much time on coach, change rooms 5 times, broke down on service station for 6 hours

The area, towns and villages, is lovely. The hotel is adequate, but not as good as they think they are - both rooms and food. The coach was not particularly comfortable, but served its purpose until breaking down on the journey towards our final overnight hotel in Reims - where we arrived at 1:30am! Breakdown arrangements were totally inadequate leaving us stranded at a service station for 5 hours, luckily the breakdown was not at the roadside.
